Let’s go Karaoke with Shrek!

Fun is one of the major reasons why people love to sing at karaoke. And in Dream Work’s animated movie “Shrek”, this is highlighted as they had a karaoke dance party at the swamp. Watch the video clip to experience the fun! I’m sure you and your kids will love this!

The Party starts by Shrek’s welcome greeting and then turned on their own wireless karaoke machine. The video is an inclusive extra in its 2-Disk Special edition DVD or the VHS version. It was released on December 2, 2001. This is a celebration party after Shrek’s and Fiona’s wedding.  When the two have sung, their friends started to sing also. And the fun continues as they end with song “Dance to the music…” Common and jive to the beat! Haha

Singing in karaoke is not just about plain singing alone. There are few tips to get you started on how to properly sing in Karaoke. Take note of this top five Do’s and Don’ts and become a great karaoke singer! So before you grab that microphone from the karaoke machine, make sure to follow these:

Do’s

You will be an effective singer if you will sing the song which you practiced the most.

#2 Sing with emotion.

You must sing the song according to what the message of the lyrics conveys.

You don’t have to push too much, it is not a competition.

#2 Don’t sing just to get the girls/boys.

Although when you sing, it can attract some boys/girls, but it’s not your main purpose. Except if you were that desperate.

#3 Don’t sing a song which you don’t know.

#4 Don’t do embarrassing things.

Enjoyment is part of karaoke but don’t lead it to let you do some embarrassing stuff.

Karaoke Short Film

Have you ever had a problem wherein you just want to walk away from it so badly? If you have one or even experienced it in the past, I just want to share this great short film that can serve as an inspiration to others, especially those that want to relieve their stress – the karaoke. This amazing machine has the power to help us cope up with life stresses. This video shows how a young man pours out his problem by singing in a karaoke.

In this video, music is evidently portrayed as a channel of a person’s emotions and feelings. You may notice the part where he is in the car and listens to the mellow oldies type of music. I don’t know what the title of that song is. Messages in the song’s lyrics are the ones which we relate ourselves to.

In the 7:51 part of the video, which is the introduction too, is the root of this young man’s problem. And the next thing he did is to express what he felt about that. He went to a karaoke bar to sing out his trouble, “What’s going on?”

Sometimes, we may experience some troubles on our way, but there is a solution for every problem. What we can do is to relieve our stress and live on as we try to solve them. One way of doing that is to sing your song in karaoke. It may not be in the bar, you can do that even in your own home karaoke system.

So next time you feel you are down, just grab the microphone, select the song that best relates to what you feel and start singing!

Disclaimer: I just saw this from YouTube, and recently, I have found the details for this film. It is an entry for the 2013 Sundance Indi Film Fest. You can read more about it here.

How about you? What is your reaction about this short film? Please leave your comments below.
